This treatment is the answer for long term hair reduction.
How it works… An intense pulse light is passed down the shaft of the hair to kill it at the follicle. There is one catch (and this explains why you need multiple treatments), the hair will only die while it is is it’s growing phase. Initially we treat your area monthly to catch all of the hair in the growing phase and then we will advise on a maintenance plan to keep your skin silky smooth.
Does it hurt… We advise that you shave the area at least a day or two before your treatment (this part should not hurt – but remember to use a sharp blade). Then as the hair is being treated it initially feels like a mosquito bite or being flicked by a small rubber band – as hair starts to die off and not grow back there is less and less of this. If this is really a discomfort we can power down our IPL machine to a lower setting.
What are the after effects… Well no hair, silky smoothness – but you may get some slight redness and heat within the skin for the next day or two – apply cool compresses to this and please do not go out and tan in the sun if this is the case.
